Critical systems are expected to operate for years — often decades. Their requirements change, operating conditions reveal new needs and ageing components must remain manageable. MAFELEC TEAM supports the evolution of selected solutions from the first technical definition to maintenance, repair, upgrade and continued service.

Service begins before a product enters operation. For power snap-action switch applications, the documented lifecycle follows three connected stages: define and design the switch for the customer’s mission profile; monitor operation and plan preventive maintenance; then upgrade, repair or maintain the equipment with testing, validation, secure delivery and traceability.
We start with the operating task: electrical duty, environment, integration and lifecycle expectation. The solution is defined around the system rather than selected in isolation.
Operating conditions and mission profile inform monitoring and preventive-maintenance planning, helping teams manage equipment before availability becomes a problem.
When service is required, the route may include upgrade, repair or factory maintenance, followed by the testing, validation, secure delivery and traceability appropriate to the agreed scope.
The right service route depends on the product, application, company and approved scope. We help customers establish the most appropriate path — from a technical assessment to repair, replacement-part continuity or lifecycle planning where available.
Clarify the reference, operating context and service requirement before defining the next step.
Build maintenance planning around mission profile and operating conditions for applicable power-switch solutions.
Assess upgrade, repair and maintenance routes with testing and validation in the documented service process.
Maintain documented handover and traceability in the applicable process.
Approved repair, testing, release and replacement-part manufacturing for eligible COMTRONIC aeronautical products.
Evolution is not limited to new development. It can mean maintaining a qualified solution, addressing obsolescence, reworking an interface or preparing a platform for its next operational phase. The practical route always begins with the specific product reference and its application context.

COMTRONIC provides a qualified repair capability under EASA Part 145 for eligible aerospace and defence products it both designs and manufactures. The scope does not extend to equipment designed by third parties.
For eligible COMTRONIC equipment, two distinct approvals support the repair process. Part 145 applies to maintenance, repair and functional testing of COMTRONIC’s own aeronautical products in service. Part 21G supports the manufacture of replacement parts or sub-assemblies to approved design data when a repair requires them.
Maintenance Organisation Approval
Enables COMTRONIC to diagnose, repair and functionally test eligible in-service aeronautical products designed and manufactured by COMTRONIC, in accordance with approved procedures. The route can include release with EASA Form 1 / Certificate of Conformity.
Production Organisation Approval
Enables the manufacture and repair of components to approved design data when replacement parts or sub-assemblies are needed. The process supports conformity to the original type design, traceability of materials and processes, and obsolescence / continued-airworthiness support.
The documented repair scope covers eligible COMTRONIC-designed and COMTRONIC-manufactured equipment, including: – Control panels – Keyboards – Control units – Electronic warning indicators – LED displays and lights
Repair scope is limited to products both designed and manufactured by COMTRONIC. Third-party designed equipment is not covered by this approval route.
Return and intake
The unit is received, logged and checked against its original reference.
Diagnosis
Fault-finding identifies the condition and the appropriate repair route within the applicable scope.
Repair or re-manufacture
The unit is repaired to the original design standard; where required, replacement parts or sub-assemblies are manufactured to approved design data.
Test and release
Functional and, where applicable, environmental testing is completed before documented release.
Reliable measurements are essential for validating performance, ensuring compliance and supporting modernization projects. Our laboratory facilities, simulation tools and portable equipment provide precise data throughout every stage of a railway project’s lifecycle.

Some measurements can only be performed on the vehicle itself. Our mobile equipment allows engineers to carry out measurements directly in operational environments with minimal disruption.
Our services include:
Using professional DIALux simulations, we evaluate interior lighting concepts before implementation. Digital simulations help reduce development time, improve passenger comfort and ensure compliance with project requirements before physical testing begins.

Our dedicated laboratory enables highly accurate measurements in a controlled environment. We perform front lighting measurements in accordance with ISO/TS 17025 requirements, providing reliable data for validation, certification and product development.
Measurements are only valuable when combined with engineering expertise. Our specialists interpret test results, identify root causes and provide practical recommendations for retrofit, modernization and system integration projects.
Support includes:

Whether in the laboratory or directly on-site, our measurement services provide the technical evidence needed to validate performance, support certification and optimize railway vehicles throughout their lifecycle.
